HP spin off PC business

Hewlett-Packard Co., the world’s largest personal-computer maker, confirmed its decision to spin off its PC business and even more shocking: it is going to “discontinue operations for webOS devices”. In other words, this is the end of the line for its just-launched tablet, the HP TouchPad as well as for its  smartphones that challenged Apple Inc.’s iPad and iPhone. This is a drastic change from past strategies and it will undo the famous HP-Compaq merger that was engineered by then-CEO Carly Fiorina a decade ago. (more…)

AUTOMATIC SHUTDOWN AFTER WINDOWS 7 BACKUP

HOW TO FIND THE MAC ADDRESS OF MY COMPUTER?

Lots of people are asking me lately “How to find my MAC address?”, so here it is — pretty simple.

Before we move to the step-by-step instructions I would like to add some theory.

According to Wikipedia MAC address is:-

In computer networking, a Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to most network adapters or network interface cards (NICs) by the manufacturer for identification, and used in the Media Access Control protocol sub-layer. If assigned by the manufacturer, a MAC address usually encodes the manufacturer’s registered identification number. It may also be known as an Ethernet Hardware Address (EHA), hardware address, adapter address, or physical address.

Step 1/ Windows

Go to Start Menu > Run. That will open a small new window. Type the following in the console and you will see another window with black background:- (more…)
