Twitter becomes image-friendly- share your pictures on Twitter

I love good news early in the morning, so I was happy to figure out that Twitter`s official photo sharing feature in now available.

Actually the feature itself was launched earlier this year (in June), but now users can find a little camera icon under the “What`s happening” field. When clicked, it let users upload their photo.

All the twwets that contain an  image include a link to pic.twitter.com and a little thumbnail of the picture attached.

The new service is powered by Photobucket, which provides the hosting for all images uploaded by Twitter users.

The new service by Twitter would certainly affect some photosharing services such as TwitPic, as it negates their usefulness.  On the one hand the photo-sharing feature is a great idea, but on the other hand Twitter has been under some criticism for competing with third-party services, which have been build on its platform. Developers do not know if Twitter will start competing with their products and it creates lots of uncertainty in Twitter`s World.

We have tried the new feature and I can say it is pretty good, why don`t you try it and tell us, whether you`ll be using the official service in your Tweet, or  you`ll stick to what you have already used to.
