Lots of people are asking me lately “How to find my MAC address?”, so here it is — pretty simple.
Before we move to the step-by-step instructions I would like to add some theory.
According to Wikipedia MAC address is:-
In computer networking, a Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a unique identifier assigned to most network adapters or network interface cards (NICs) by the manufacturer for identification, and used in the Media Access Control protocol sub-layer. If assigned by the manufacturer, a MAC address usually encodes the manufacturer’s registered identification number. It may also be known as an Ethernet Hardware Address (EHA), hardware address, adapter address, or physical address.
Step 1/ Windows
Go to Start Menu > Run. That will open a small new window. Type the following in the console and you will see another window with black background:-
cmd
Step 2/ Windows
In the last window you need to type the following:
ipconfig /all
Аnd here it is. It is called Physical Address and is in the following format (both numbers and letters):-
XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX
For Linux it works the same. In the console you need to type:-
ifconfig
And you are ready.

I love the way you write and also the theme on your blog. Did you code this yourself or was it done by a professional? I’m very very impressed.
Thanks for these. It’s really interested.
